Getting started
- In the Ring app, open the Ring Appstore and add Home Outage Alert. Ring requires an active Ring plan to enable any Ring Appstore app.
- Choose the devices to share with the app and confirm.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email to the address on your Ring account. That signs you in; there is no password.
- Your home and its devices appear. Devices at the same Ring location are grouped into one home.
Not getting alerts?
- One device dropping is not a home outage. When one device drops while the others at home stay online, there is no alert. If your home has only one Ring device — or only one still working — we alert and say we can't tell a home outage from a device problem. Either way, the app shows the dropped device as offline.
- It takes a while. Ring reports a device offline about 12 minutes after it loses contact, then we check with Ring before alerting. Alerts usually arrive within about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Check your settings. In Settings, check that email alerts or push notifications are on, and whether alerts for partial outages are on. On your phone, allow notifications for Home Outage Alert.
- Check your spam folder for emails from homeoutagealert@erbacciltd.com.
- Make sure the devices are shared with the app in the Ring app (Menu, then My Apps, then Home Outage Alert).
- Send a test notification from Settings to check that notifications reach you.
- Some Ring devices do not report their connection to Ring, so an outage at a home with only those devices may not be detected.
Times in alerts are approximate because they come from Ring.
Deleting your information
- In the app: Settings, then Delete account. Your account, homes, devices, outage log and push registrations are deleted immediately.
- By email: write to info@erbacciltd.com from the address on your account. We act within 30 days and confirm by email.

Removing Home Outage Alert from your Ring account
In the Ring app, open Menu, then My Apps, then Home Outage Alert, and remove it. This stops all processing and deletes your homes, devices, outage log and Ring access straight away. Your account record (email and settings) stays until you delete your account in the app, so that reconnecting later finds it.
Deleting your account in Home Outage Alert does not remove the app from your Ring account. Do both if you want to stop completely.
