Terms of Service
Home Outage Alert. Effective date: 16 October 2026.
These terms govern your use of Home Outage Alert (the "Service"), operated by Erbacci LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States ("we", "us"). By connecting Home Outage Alert to your Ring account or by using our web app or mobile apps, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Home Outage Alert tells you when your home goes offline: when the Ring devices at your home lose contact with Ring together. It sends a second message when your home is back, says how long it was out, and keeps a dated outage log. It also shows the latest status of each of your devices.
The Service does not know why devices lose contact. A power outage, an internet outage, a router problem or a problem at Ring can all look the same.
2. An awareness tool, not an alarm or emergency service
Home Outage Alert is provided for your awareness only. It is not an alarm, monitoring or emergency service, it does not contact anyone on your behalf, and it cannot prevent, detect the cause of or fix any outage.
Do not use the Service for any purpose where a missed, late or wrong alert could lead to death, injury or damage to property. Do not rely on it to look after anything or anyone that depends on power or internet at your home. Make your own arrangements for those.
3. How detection works, and its limits
You should understand these limits before relying on the Service for anything:
- Ring itself reports a device offline about 12 minutes after it loses contact. We then wait a few more minutes for the other devices at the same home and check their status with Ring before alerting. Alerts usually arrive within about 15 to 20 minutes, but they can take longer or not arrive at all.
- An outage that ends before Ring reports it may never be detected.
- One device losing contact while others at the same home stay online is not treated as an outage and does not send an alert.
- With only one Ring device at a home, or only one still working, we alert, but we cannot tell a home outage from a problem with that device.
- Ring does not send connection notices for every device type, and some devices may never report losing contact. Devices using Amazon Sidewalk may stay in contact with Ring through other Sidewalk devices nearby while your own internet is down.
- Times in alerts and in the outage log come from Ring and are approximate.
- Alerts depend on Ring, on our cloud service, on Apple and Google push services, on email providers, on your mobile network and on your settings. Any of these can delay or stop an alert.
- The absence of an alert does not mean your home has power or internet.
4. Your account
You must be an adult and able to accept these terms. You may only connect a Ring account, and Ring devices, that you own or are authorized to manage. Keep the email address on your account accurate: sign-in codes and alerts are sent to it.
Ring requires an active Ring plan to enable any Ring Appstore app. Ring, the Ring app and your Ring account are provided by Ring under Ring's own terms, not by us. Changes Ring makes to its service or its API may change or interrupt Home Outage Alert.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to watch or track any home, device or person without the authorization of the account owner;
- misuse, overload, probe, copy, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service, or access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide;
- use the Service for anything unlawful or in breach of Ring's terms.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. To report misuse of the Service, email info@erbacciltd.com.
6. Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service, including for maintenance, and we may stop offering it altogether. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you in advance.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that any outage will be detected, that any alert will be sent or delivered, or that alerts, times or statuses will be timely, complete or accurate, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Erbacci LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss or damage arising from a missed, late or inaccurate alert, from an outage at your home, or from your reliance on the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Ending the Service
You can stop using the Service at any time: delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account) and remove Home Outage Alert from your Ring account in the Ring app (Menu, then My Apps). What happens to your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you live outside the United States, this does not take away any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
